Well, the time has come for me to start blogging again. This time with a view to making this properly happen!
Let me quickly introduce myself incase we haven’t met. My name is Mark Earngey: a ministry apprentice about to enter theological college. I’ve got a background in IT and have current interests in theology and philosophy and sports and coffee. I’ve got a passion for family and parish work, and look like I might end up working somewhere around Sydney, Australia. I also have a passion for thinking critically about culture. Francis Schaeffer once said that “ideas have legs” and i like to think about what ideas shaped certain legs (metaphorically speaking of course!).
Initially a friend planted the idea in my head, when he suggested that – ‘hey, why don’t we get a whole bunch of people from around the world to write up their perspectives on different facets of life’ . We thought about certain theological issues, philosophies, his interest – psychology, and simple everyday things. Who knows if we’ll end up there, but certainly i’d love to have a melting pot of ideas here.
Well, why you might ask? Well, simply because i think it’s a great thing to do. My motivation is to promote the Glory of God through this blog and help people do likewise. It’s a challenge that i’m keen to take up, and i’m hopeful about what it might be!
So i hope this takes off, and would love to hear your thoughts.
Cheers,
Mark
