I like the two column for a blog and I like short posts. If I want to read something longer I will go for published articles or books. I go to blogs for something quick - an idea, an observation, something funny, something interesting. I agree with geoffc that to keep it short is better, as there are so many other time pressures these days, is a post really worth more than 2 minutes out of the day.

Cheers guys, that's flippin' great. Reuben, you've picked it mate - I'm a geek with little to no design ability, so templates here we come!

And Geoff, yeah mate - I've got to try and limit the old ramble. I've appreciated having swung over to your blog to read a quick question, then just have a think about it...

Thanks fellas...

REgarding length of post, it all depends. When I'm writing a post I keep it short because if I'm being really honest, is it worth more than 2 minutes out of somebodies day? Do I have the ability compared to so many other brilliant writers to keep people reading. The answer for me is 'no'.

If you have statcounter you can check how long people visit your blog for, and that may give you an idea how long to keep your posts.

I'd pay someone 20 bucks for a decent blog design. I've got no idea how to do it.
