Well, this was a fantastic podcast! Steve and I headed out to Fivedock – the HQ of Christ Church Inner West (CCIW) and interviewed Rev. Andrew Katay. It was a real highlight to think together about how to preach in order to help people change to be more like Christ. Andrew’s been blogging a bit about it under the term ‘Sanctification by Faith‘.
Along with this, we heard all about Andrew’s journey of faith, and his plans for planting lots of churches around the inner west by using what he calls the “Inner West Churn” where young people move in, then move out at a later age. We also heard Andrew’s thoughts about SMBC, and also some of the books which have impacted him during his lifetime.
It was a great time of fellowship, and a great bit of banter about things which matter a lot! Enjoy!
Update from Steve’s blog: “In this episode we also launch another (legitimate) competition. We are throwing out a challenge for someone to create the most entertaining limerick about ‘the other college’ (let the reader understand).”

some good preaching resources
RTS lectures by Keller and Clowney (Itunes)
Bryan Chapel also good – hits the sanctification by fait h application well. 26 lectures on Itunes through Covenant Seminary + “Christ Centered Preaching”.
re preaching the message to yourself; Richard Baxter ‘Reformed Pastor’ or Murray Cappill takes on Puritan Preaching to the HEart
btw I knew Andrew cared about me !
regards
Craig Rogerson.

Haha – Craig Rogerson. Love it. At least he didn’t call you Roger Rogerson
Cheers for those resources – I’ll chime in and back them up too. I’ve listened to a bunch of Keller’s preaching tapes to preachers, and he’s got an incredible method of preaching which I would love to see around here. Luke Woodhouse is doing some research into his method, so it’d be great to see what he comes up with too!
Cheers Craig!
